Motherhood is an essential chapter in a woman’s life, and celebrating the essence of this new phase, SIMS Hospital and Chennai Yoga Studio, organised a holistic maternity and wellness session – Garbha Yoga. In line with International Mother’s Day, Garbha Yoga wellness session featured a yoga program with Ms. Rohini Manohar while educating pregnant women on childbirth in the presence of Ms. Sheethal Sathya, a certified childbirth educator. The wellness session aimed to provide integrated benefits for the moms-to-be, with certified instructors and doctors helping them embark on a new journey.
Prenatal yoga is an emerging new fitness regime to prepare pregnant women for safe and happy delivery. Garbha Yoga witnessed women in several yoga poses like Wide-Angle Seated Forward Bend (Upavistha Konasana),Triangle Pose (Trikonasana), Standing Forward Bend (Uttanasana), among many others that be practised on a routine basis at the comfort of their homes. In addition, the session enlightened the participants’ on self-care methods and dietary recommendations to tackle hormonal and behavioural changes during pregnancy along with tips to give birth to a healthy child.
