Madras Neuro Trust organised Neuro Update 2020

Organised by the Madras Neuro Trust, a Scientific Programme – Neuro Update 2020- was inaugurated by Dr. Mohammed Rela, Chairman & Managing Director, Dr. Rela Institute & Medical Care, Chennai who was the Chief Guest of the occasion in the presence of Dr. G.Arjundas, Chairman, Neuro Update, Chennai & Dr. C.U. Velmurugendran, Secretary, Neuro Update, Chennai.

The Neuro Update is conducted every year by the Madras Neuro Trust. The Madras Neuro Trust was set up in 2001 with the aim of promoting education on neurological disorders to postgraduate students, practicing doctors and the public. The trust also provides support to students and young neurologists to present papers at conferences and pursue advanced training.

Apart from the regular annual update sessions, the trust also supports other meetings, conferences conducted in Chennai on Neurology.

Every year during the annual update, the visiting faculty (speakers from abroad) interact with the public, the members of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India, Chennai Chapter.

This year’s Neuro Update sessions cover infections of the nervous system, immunological disorders of the Nervous system, sleep physiology and the sleep disorders.

Vertigo, another common disorder and its management is also being discussed.

5 epminent faculties 4 from USA and 1 from UK are taking part and sharing their expertise and interacting with the Indian Neurologists over a course of 2 and 1/2 days.

The Neuro Trust also honors the neuroscientists who have been contributing to teaching and treating patients with distinction, every year during the update sessions.

This year’s Neuro Update was inaugurated by Dr. Mohamed Rela, Chairman & Director of the Dr. Rela Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Institute, Chennai and 1 physician, 5 neurologists and 1Neurosurgeon were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award
