ONAM WORKSHOP IMPARTS KEY LEARNINGS FOR CHILDREN ARTISTICALLY

27 eager children sat in rapt attention as Shreya, the founder of “Anybody Can Draw”, shared a story from the history, setting the tone for the free Onam-themed art painting workshop at Nageswara Rao Park.

“Weekend at the Park”, sponsored by Sundaram Finance was an engaging two-hour session that allowed children between the ages of 8 to 12 years to express their creativity by painting wooden coasters with an Onam theme. Through their artwork, they showcased their connection to nature by depicting the iconic smiling Kathakali face and an intricate Decoupage design. The session allowed them to explore their artistic talents and imparted valuable lessons about the significance of Onam and the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle.

The trainer for the evening was Shreya Suraj. Founder of an art group called ANYBODY CAN DRAW on Facebook. The purpose of her group is to encourage all kinds of art and all ages of artists. She has done over 250 art workshops for children,  adults, kids with special needs, and cancer survivors in the last 10 years. She believes in sustainable art and that art can be done on any surface and it does not need expensive tools.
