Chin Chin restaurant, The Residency is celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Dog, the Chinese New Year, in style, with traditional lanterns and a festival menu.
The dog is the sign of loyalty, honesty, friendliness, strong sense of responsibility and smartness – all the qualities that make them outshine their contemporaries.
‘China is the place for food, but Sichuan is the place for flavor’! goes a Chinese saying. Enter the dragon’s lair at the award winning ‘Chin Chin’ restaurant to experience a taste of Chinese customs. The dishes are robust with an abundance of dried chillies, Sichuan pepper and fragrant garlic.
Under the magical touch of Chef Shan, the delightful celebration comes alive. Enjoy an a’la carte with lip-smacking Chinese starters, main course and more.
Yusheng – Tossing the prosperity salad at the beginning of the meal is considered symbolically significant and gives “good luck” for the New Year. The ingredients comprise of fresh vegetables like ginger, melon, lime, cucumber & leek, flavored with sesame, pepper, cinnamon & pok chui biscuits.
Opening the new menu for the festivities are some delicious starters like the Hareethong soup, Barbecued Tofu, Honey Pepper Water Chestnut, Golden Crab Claws, Szechwan Red Snapper and the Porcupine Chicken.
The highlight of the menu is Shanghai Roast Chicken; this delicacy makes one imagine a golden brown poultry fresh off the skillet, whose skin is crispy and crackly and whose meat is tender, moist and flavourful.
The main course shows off classic dishes like the Vegetable Dumpling Chilli Coriander, Lamb Oyster Sauce and Steamed Sea Bass — just as the vendors serve it on the streets of Beijing.
